Fossil fuel companies making record breaking profits due to the increase in gas prices are living high off the hog and you can be sure they are contributing heavily to members of congress, mainly repubs and of course Manchin. Altho just the other day Manchin finally relented and decided to vote for the plan. Now it just has to pass the Senate.....
There's too much money in fossil fuels, to many folks getting rich off the destruction of the earth. Just like there is too much money in folks getting sick, which is why we only have sick care in the U.S. and not wellness care. There's no money to be made from people who are healthy (at least not for the folks currently making all the money)
